Dr. LaJoie received her undergraduate degree  at the University of Miami and completed her premedical studies at UC San Diego. She then attended the Keck School of Medicine at USC in Los Angeles, California. After graduating as a Dean’s Scholar, she completed her Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at Scripps Clinc and Research Institute in La Jolla, California. During her time at Scripps Clinc, Dr. LaJoie  won the  awards in both clincal research and humanitarianism.

Dr. LaJoie has dual board certification in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Dr. LaJoie’s special interests include women’s gastrointestinal health, inflammatory bowel disease, and chronic liver disease. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and is a member of the California Medical Association. Dr. LaJoie has been practicing gastroenterology since 2007.

Dr. LaJoie is a San Diego native and resides in Encinitas with her husband and two sons.
