Ovarian Cancer

One in seventy women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer and one out of every hundred will die from it. According to the American Cancer Society, approximately 22,280 cases of ovarian cancer will be diagnosed in 2012.

This is a disease that is often discovered at an advanced stage. The usual treatment of choice for cancer of the ovaries is a combination of surgery and chemotherapy. Radiation can be useful in cases of recurrent disease and is generally given in a palliative fashion.
