Hemorrhoid banding
This is an unsedated procedure performed in the office to treat internal hemorrhoids that are causing symptoms not amenable to over the counter remedies. The patient does not need to prepare for this. A small rubber band is placed over a single internal hemorrhoid to cut off the blood supply to the hemorrhoid. After a few days, the excess hemorrhoid tissue will fall off.
