Robotic Assisted Laparoscopic Prostatectomy

Robotic prostatectomy is a minimally invasive prostate removal and cancer treatment surgery. A specially trained Genesis robotic surgical specialist is able to perform the surgery through a few small "keyhole" entrances and utilize very tiny and precise instruments to perform the surgery with great precision.   The goal is to remove the prostate gland without doing any harm to surrounding tissue. The patient is left with only a few small marks on his abdomen - none of the scars normally associated with prostate cancer treatment and surgery.

Genesis Healthcare offers San Diego’s most experienced robotic surgeons.  Keep in mind while scaring is minimized, robotic surgery is still surgery and carries the same risks and potential side effects associated with prostatectomy.  Talk to your Genesis Prostate Cancer Specialist to determine which surgical techniques provide you with the best alternative for your diagnosis.
